Most Favourite Holiday Destinations of Swedish Nationals

Every third Swede plans a foreign holiday this summer with destinations such as Antalya in Turkey and Mallorca in Spain among the perennial favourites. The number of bookings for the summer has increased by 13 percent compared to last year, according to a report from the travel agency Ticket.

“It is surprising that Mallorca is still at the top. It doesn't matter what happens, Mallorca is always there. The island is very popular and remains on top year after year”, says Peter Walther at Ticket.  But Antalya in Turkey is ranked as the most popular destination by Swedish travellers. Turkey is known for its good climate and Swedes are very influenced by the weather when they choose a holiday destination, according to Ticket.

“The season there is long. You can go there as early as April and be there until October or even November and still have a nice temperature”, says Annika Vall at Ticket. Turkey is also affordable. Swedes want much for their money, and they will get that in Turkey.
